  • Wonder if they'd have given Steve Jobs the satisfaction of them abandoning it if he were still alive?

We'll see if Blackberry keep running their PlayBook adverts which solely relies on the fact it runs flash to sell.

yeah all those android device manufacturers who have been advertising that there phone has flash must really be happy that adobe (a company they cannot control) have just basically turned round and gone nah you can't use flash now, no wonder apple and microsoft didn't want some random 3rd party controlling a key aspect of their devices. :rotfl:

but on a serious note, it is genuinely a good thing that flash has gone from mobiles now, pretty much every single (decent) website has long since not needed flash (why would a website even require flash) HTML5 pretty much covers all the bases and I bet most of you have been watching youtube videos in HTML5 for ages and not known it.

I know I'm not the only one to think that any website that requires you to have Flash or to have JavaScript turned on is a broken website.

It may also have something to do with windows 8 not allowing any add-ons for the metro interface IE browser on the start menu.

no idea on the cost but because HTML5 is an open standard wouldn't development tools be relatively cheap, i.e. you wouldn't only have to go to adobe, you could go to anyone offering such tools.
