Help do I have a PPI Claim ?

Morning
I had a Nat West credit card for about 15 years until I finally paid it off a year ago.
When I applied I was just told where to sign, tick and a few weeks later my card arrived.
At the time I got my first statement I did notice the card protection charges but assumed that this was a term of getting the card.
During this time I have been made redundant twice and never had the need to claim.
I have had loans and cards since but I am always careful to shop around for the best cover.
The question is do I have a claim?
All of this was a long time ago, all the original paper work I have has long gone & I have since changed address.
All I have an old statement going back to 2008 with the card number and charges etc etc….
I have noticed that Nat West have a phone number you can call to discuss claims, would I be better off calling the number or not bothering.
HELP !!!
