Missing tabs - help please

I have a weirdly annoying situation on my pc.
When I right click on a link I only get the options to "open" or "open in new window"
These are fine but I prefer "open in new tab"
I'm on Vista and have installed IE9 having been on IE8 but it hasn't made any difference.
It's no biggie but I'm hoping it isn't caused by something more worrying
Any help appreciated, thanks
