Advice for friend regarding JSa

Friend of mine who has no children was in full time work, but her personal circumstances changed so she moved to Liverpool, and is now staying with her sister inlaw and her children.
She is worried about claiming JSA (she has applied for many jobs to no avail) because SIL is claiming tax credits.
Would claiming JSA for herself infact interfere with SIL tax credits? (SIL works part time). And housing/tax benefit.
Thanks for your time.

It could affect the SIL Housing and Council Tax benefit. If this Sister in Law was the only adult in the house she will lose the single person discount when your friend moves in. If your friend is over 25 and claiming JSA(IB) OR aged 18+ and not in work then there is a £9.40 deduction per week for housing benefit and there is no deduction for Council Tax Benefit if your friend is receiving JSA(IB.) if receiving JSA(C) then the deduction is £2.85 from Council Tax benefit.Don't thank me, thank my post :T
