Unresponsive script

I keep getting the following warning coming up
'A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.

Is there anything that I can do, the computer seems to be slowing down and the screen saver keeps freezing.
I am running on XP using Firefox browser.

I've updated Adobe Flash Player but its still doing it.
Ok, will have a look at Firefox, but thats automatically updates on its on, think it did one fairly recently.0 -
