Switching Energy Suppliers - HELP!

I have just tried 2 different energy supplier comparison websites (EnergyShare and MoneySupermarket) before committing to switching suppliers.
I was drawn to the n-power fixed rate tariff 'Go Fix 8' as recommended.
However, when I enter my current energy useage information, the 2 websites bring up 2 vastly different outcomes-a £196 saving and a £5 increase-can anyone explain why this is, or offer any help?

Thanks very much,

Rlhms

  • All npower tariffs on the comp sites include a £105 discount that when you read the small print for the tariff confirms the £105 is paid in arrears, so actual cost for coming 12 months is £105 dearer than the comp site is showing as annual cost, and actula saving in coming 12 months £105 less than what comp site says saving will be. To qualify for the £105 discount must make 12 consecutive mdd payments to npower, and in the 13th month you'll get £105 refunded of what you've already paid eg - Comp sites says annual cost will be £1000 with npower actual will be £1,105, then when had £105 rebate Jan 2013, then you'll have spent £1000. The above doesn't give anyone one here much to go on as you've not said which co and tariff you are currently with. N.B all of the power co's EDF, Eon, BG, SSE, Scottish Power, what ever their dual fuel discount is is ongoing on each bill, only npower, utility warehouse and First Utility pay discounts in arrears.

Are you using actual annual kWh figures-not monthly DD amounts?

I have similar problems. I now have my updated annual statement in kWh from EDF for both gas and electricity. Comparison sites are all getting the annual £ figure wrong. Some are as much as £120 wrong (ie 'your annual spend is X, when it is way lower). The comparison sites all disagree (entering kWh exact usage on dual fuel) on what savings I could be making.
Even when I factor in the DD discount, which I assumed comparison sites did automatically (?), the figures are totally wrong.

Which tariff are you on with EDF?
