car insurance asking for repair invoice for a privatly repaired 'cat c' car

Well basically my car was written off due to 'beyond economical repair'. I had bought it back at salvage cost and my partner has had it repaired for less than the amount the garage was asking for. It has passed its mot.
But now my insurance company has asked for repair invoices to confirm that the car is in its pre-accident state. They have given me a months notice otherwise they will review my policy.
What I dont understand is that it has passed its mot, It is roadworthy.

passing it's MOT doesn't mean it's roadworthy, it just means its passed a series of tests or you've put some money in the right person's pocket. They want a copy of the invoice so they know that all the required work was carried out incase you have another claim on it.0

Quite often they will ask for a Motor Engineers Report too; even if the damage was only cosmetic.0

I’d ask them which policy term or condition they are relying on to ask for this information.
And then go else where at renewal time0
