Tyres- New/old tyre braking distance compared

Here is a video and graph displaying the difference between new tyres at 8mm and those on the legal limit of 1.6mm. For information the legal limit in Germany is 3mm, looking at this you can see why. Money saving is great but perhaps not with tyres!!

    Quite shocking really. That reminds me, I need some tyres very soon.
  • I was reading about a new tyre, some manufacturer is now producing,that they say will perform as well, when down to 1.6mm as it does when new.

    Only sorry i cant remember where i read it ,or who is making it,must be old age setting in!!
