Can't get tax credits ?

Just finished paying back an overpayment :) so decided to see if we could get WTC again

Me - 32, female, working 20hours
OH - 30, male, on ESA
Claiming HB and CT

HMRC website is unable to display figures for whatever reason

Bloke on phone said we can't claim WTC, no reason given

    Do you have any children? If you don't, you have to be working 30 hours to claim WTC. Either that or your wage is too high (for WTC anyway). HMRC should have given you a reason at least.
    I know the Directgov website has a benefits calculator which might be helpful

    no children, I'm on £6.08 an hour
  • Do you get DLA for your EDS? I seem to remember when I looked there were extra conditions for people with disabilities, ordinarily though you need to be working over 30 hours (if you've no kids) or over 16 hours (if you've got kids) and on a low income to qualify, I think.

    I haven't claimed anything for hms/eds as I feel I am far too active in my day-to-day duties that if anyone came to check on me or observe me from afar ... No point in doing it
  • You have to work 30+ hours a week to get WTC.

    Hope it continues like that for you :), DD has HMS amongst other things.
