They charge you for a full tank of fuel :mad:0

...but if you return the car with a full fuel tank, it is credited back to your card.0

Can anyone clarify if that is correct - if you return the car with a full tank of petrol with carjet, do they refund? We have used them many times but were unaware of this and never used the tank of petrol we paid for!0

Yes, if they take a deposit for a tank of petrol, that deposit will be returned at the end of the rental if the car is returned with a full tank.
Carjet are brokers so the actual method of renting depends on the company you're dealing with. Some rental companies give you a full tank and charge you for missing petrol if you don't return it with a full tank. Others rent their cars with, for example, a quarter tank and you return it with a quarter tank. Just remember to check the petrol gauge before you sign on the dotted line and get it signed off by the rental guy.
We've used Carjet several times and can only agree with the OP ... they're reasonably priced and their service is very good.0 -
Oh dear, here we go again! This subject has been discussed so many times on here that you only need to do a search on car hire and it is bound to pop up!
First of all, Carjet (and many other web sites) are merely brokers. they will contract with various car suppliers at various locations. These suppliers will set the terms and conditions.
Furthermore, sometimes, the local staff have authority to over-ride the T&Cs at their discretion.
Most Spanish suppliers work on a full-to-empty basis for fuel. Those that don't usually charge a higher rate to make up for what they lose on the fuel cost! Sometimes, for short hires, they will operate a full-to-full basis, but usually only on request when the car is supplied - not when it is booked.
As for Carjet's service, I agree it's first rate. We've used them off-and-on for four or five years and always found them to respond brilliantly to any issues I've raised. However, on recent occasions, I've found their rates to be uncompetitive. Argus, for instance, seem to be able to undercut them fairly regularly.0 -
Hired at Murcia. 2 minutes in bus from front of airport as we were told. No problem. You do need to pay for the petrol and we paid an extra 20 euro to have full insurance wheels, tyres, under car indeed would not need to pay and excess in any situation. When priced for the same through the co. they used we foun we only were paying 2/3. FOUND TO BE V GOOD ON OUR ONE OCCASION. wOULD NOT GO TO ANYBODY ELSE.0
