I have an 8gb Kingston Data Traveller USB memory stick that will not let me copy files over 4gb.

I have make sure the stick is empty and reformatted it but it still will not let me copy a 4gb file onto it.

Is the 4gb limit normal?

Many thanks. Just reformatted it using NTFS and the 4gb copied without any problem at all.

Is there any downside using NTFS against FAT32?

Formatting a usb to ntfs can cause problems. Ntfs does not always remain stable on solid state memory so can/will become corrupt. If you have to use it with ntfs, make regular back up's, as it will eventually go wrong.

    I am getting confused now:(

It appears NTFS is used on most operating systems/hard drives now and it's stable?

It's only unstable when it's used with solid state memory?
