Recommend a shower

I've currently got a Worcester combi boiler and i'm looking for a good, compatible shower to install in my bathroom but not sure which one/type I should go for. Thermostatic? Thermostatic mixer? Electric? Etc.

I'm looking for a nice looking one which will provide good quality power and durability but without paying too much, hoping for less than £200 if possible. I've heard good things about Mira but there are so many I'm unsure what one to go for. If anyone knows of any good deals at the moment that would be really helpful.

Thanks

With a worcester combi you can go for almost any of the valves out there - the shower head needs to be right one but the control is almost unimportant (this is the honest answer from a bathroom salesperson of 20+ years). There are higher quality valves out there but almost everything is coming out of the same factories in China and you are unlikely to notice the difference between a swirl thermostatic mixer shower and riser rail from screwfix at £80 and a hansgrohe axor citterio for £1245.
To be fair someone like Hansgrohe do produce some very good mid range showers; and to be honest they are probably considered one of the best manufacturers out there; i would suggest that Mira used to be a great brand but I'm not sure what you are paying more for, these days.... :)

We just replaced our electric shower in the en suite as it was leaking (after almost 20 years service) we bought a Creda box from B & Q which is rather nice it glows green when you switch it on, it was about £80 but reduced from well over £100 in some kind of promo they were having. However if I was replacing a hot water shower I would probably go for something similar because you already have the plumbing in the right place etc.

Thanks for your response, that's really helpful. I don't suppose you know any that are currently on offer or any you think I should look at?

    Thanks again

I think the first thing you need to decide is whether you need/want an electric shower running off your rising main, or a mixer shower running off the combi output. Entirely different things
There are several schools of thought on this, but an electric shower does at least mean that you still have hot water should the combi fail.
If you have no shower in place at present, then the install costs for an electric shower are going to be higher, as you will have to run in a dedicated shower circuit, isolator and RCD, etc. If going for a mixer, the supplies are already there.
