Hi all
Can anyone advise me on returning a childs coat and dress to tescos, both are still tagged i would like to exchange the dress for a smaller size and would like to change the coat for something different, they were purchased as a gift from tescos direct and i do not have the receipt.
many thanks

It will be at the discretion of the store, I am afraid. That said, Tesco will normally exchange the items (assuming they are Tesco branded and/or tagged with a Tesco price lable), but they will only give you credit at the current price of the goods. So, for example, they were bought at ten pounds last week, but are in a sale today at five pounds, they will only credit you five pounds. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

Thanks for your advice
I took the coat back to tesco it was still tagged £20 the nice lady said i could exchange for something else but can only give me to what it scans for, it scanned at £18 so i was happy with that, looked for another coat but they did not have one i liked so the lady said pick something for £18 then you will have a receipt and be able to bring it back and exchange when you see one you like.0 -
Strange approach - usually they'll just put the balance onto a gift card.0

I think they stopped that policy sometime ago, although it might be down a local decision. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0
