I saw no loaves, no fishes, and no one walked on water, but its clear to me that Cameron and his CONdem disciples must have some very special qualities, he has managed to cure 600.000 people and make them well again overnight.
They like Lazarus [ John 5:8 ] can now pick up their bed and [STRIKE]walk[/STRIKE] work.
I learn something new every day, I thought only [STRIKE]the other[/STRIKE] Jesus worked miracles

It does later on in your link, say that the 600,000 will be of people who will not qualify for the income related ESA. It does therefore make you wonder, how many of those currently have very good pensions or partners with very good jobs and the reduction won't be quite so severe. But also, how many people's partners earn just over enough to stop the income related ESA and then that family unit will start to struggle.
People live within their means in their household budgets, as a basic example, someone who is on a low income may find shopping at the likes of Asda and Lidl the best use of their money, while at the other end, they may wish to shop at Waitrose and M&S. There is nothing wrong with either of those at all, society needs people at all levels to exist (think managers to cleaners as a basic example). However, soon, the Asda and Lidl group will continue on the income related while the Waitrose and M&S will have to rethink and maybe go to Sainsburys. Those examples should not be thought of as exact, but 'general'.
I see it has the northern areas as potentially the worst affected due to high rates of IB claimants. Could a potential reason be because of the bad working environments in mines and factories, most of which are now closed? So how do they get a job with so few about anyway? Personally for people like that, I can see them being easily sanctionable, which is a shame.0 -

My early superficial analysis of their own numbers says 3700 IB claimants can have their benefits reduced / stopped overnight because even without the new descriptors they are able to start work tomorrow.
It's a wonderful gift this capacity to conjure up miracles, I wonder, like yourself if, when he's finished parting the dead [STRIKE]red[/STRIKE] sea and putting out the burning bush if he can find time to create fair rate jobs for those who are the newly reborn workers.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. Even if there was just a 'reasonable' rate of unemployment, the 3,700 would struggle because of a lack of work experience. Not only that, but how many would be able to even be capable of writing a basic CV?
I do think it will be a voting collection benefit in terms of 'look how people should never have had IB'. It's down to politics and some of it hasn't been thought through, unless their plan is to sanction them all for 3 years and reducing the benefit pay-out...0 -
I thought I'd quote the paper you link toThe loss of entitlement is entirely the result of new benefit rules. It does not necessarily indicate that the health problems or disabilities that previously gave entitlement are anything other than genuine.0
