Confidence issue re switching to 0% credit cards

I'm not yet panicking but.... I know that switching to a 0% card from one on which I am paying interest would be a good idea.

My problem is that I'm not sure that anyone will give me a 0% card (I obtained the one I've got when I was better off than I am now!) and I fall at the first hurdle, since I always assume the worst and then don't take action. Or, if I do, and get knocked back, I give up.

I have applied for one, but not yet had a response.

I'm also nervous about making a lot of applications in case that all goes on my credit history somehow?

I would be really grateful for some support here - either in terms of suggesting how I go about getting a 0% card, or how else I might be able to get rid of the interest on the card I've got (I can manage the payments for now, but won't be able to forever)

Failing that, some sypmpathetic noises or some donated courage would be more than welcome.

  • Did you apply for this 0% card in branch or online? If online, what the system say after you applied?

Thank you, I've only just checked back here.

I applied on line and I can't honestly remember what it said, except that further checks were going to be made. I'm guessing they will write to me, turning down the application.

It just means they'll manually review the application. It's 50/50.

    What does it say?

Filled in form which says it can't return results as it can't confirm my details. Which is strange since I've been here 8 months, am on the electoral register and was able to give previous address where I lived for ten years.
