Perhaps keep your eye on the northern airports' websites

I asked when is the best time to book them since I thought maybe someone would have booked Christmas flights for a sensible price. I know where my local airports are, which airlines fly the routes I would take etc etc, I want to know WHEN to book.
After they are released and when you see a price you are happy to pay.
Airline fares are a gamble...they may go down or they may go up, pick a fare you are happy to pay and when you see it book0 -
Bye then
Unless someone can tell you different then you have your answer. I have flown on a weekly basis for the last 8 years and can only concur with Caz3121 in that there is no 'best' - you pick your price, book your ticket and then stop looking.
Your 'need' is to actually puchase a ticket, you're 'desire' is for it to be at an acceptable (or the best/lowest) price. As such it's pointless leaving to to Oct 2012 and finding that you can't fulfil your 'need'
And just to clarify - you stated you could fly from Leeds to London (no mention of airport) and I stated you can't any more (unless you have access to a private jet)0 -

Flight pricing for the passenger is an art, not a science. Please forget I mentioned October as it was meant as an example. If 3,000 other people all have the same idea as you flights could go from £300 to £3000 to Full in 24hrs - only you can decide.
And as for the London flights there is nothing direct from LBA http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bradford-west-yorkshire-127509140 -
We usually find that they are fairly reasonable around July/August time.0

Congrats, I'm closing my account after one day.
You have one seriously bad attitude!0 -
