Help please internet speed

My father has broadband with top speed of just under 1.5meg.
He is trying to watch some tv programmes on his touchpad but it keeps buffering and when i googled it he should be on a minimum of 2meg.
Can anybody advise if there is a booster or something we could use to give the extra 1/2

Many thanks

You can ask your ISP to check the line and see if they can improve things, ask which speed tester they prefer results from, and then run a few at intervals during the day, then evenings

If it is using iPlayer, there is an option to reduce the bandwidth

With some online players, if you press play until it starts, then click the pause button and leave it for a few minutes, they may buffer the file and then it can be watched

If there is a download option, go with that, the bandwidth use is the same

Thought that so edited the post, if you can download the file, you can always delete it when it has been viewed

VLC is here if you can use it

they can't install VLC if they are using an HP Touchpad, thats why they will be using a flash streaming site.

OP you can pause the video, let it load then start watching, that way you should have no buffering while watching.
