For your chance to win the latest iPod Touch, have a look at the question below. Use our website to help you, and if you love Christmas as much as we do, you shouldn’t have any trouble with the rest!

"Add the number of miles from London to Lapland to the number of bars we have in Manchester, then times that number by the amount of Reindeer Santa has (including Rudolph) and finally divide your number by the amount of geese-a-laying in the famous Christmas carol."

    (Tip: use Google Maps)

Lapland comes up with few places on google map so don't know what they want. There are 5 Bars in Manchester. 9 Reindeers. 6 Geese .

    {(x + 5) x 9 } /6 = ?

Distance from London to Lapland: it depends where you start and finish! 2 answers from google are 1369 miles or 1379 miles both of which give a whole number as the answer but there could be others.

    bars in Manchester: 5
    reindeer: 9
    geese: 6

    1369 + 5 x 9 /6 = 2061

    1379 + 5 x 9 /6 = 2076

No they ask for the distance from London to Lapland added to the number of bars they have in Manchester.

I got the distances from London to Lapland from here and here

I just found another 1133 from here which gives 1707.

They need to give two specific points or this is impossible.

Considering that London is the longest city in the world, last time I heard, you have done an invaluable work with all that maths! We'd better just poke our luck without any expectations !
Thanks for posting and counting. You are now, this minute, shining like a million stars !:T:T:T

It just worked ok for me, try again now

(I was waiting in case they changed the question or someone came up with something else but I don't see it happening and I have too many tabs open so pot luck it is :) )
  • Do you think its a trick question? They said for hint use google map not google. if you type london to lapland on google map you get few results. Maybe we are suppose to find a pub amongst the results?

If you type in 'london to lapland' under google maps, it gives you driving directions to directions to Iglu.com, which offers holidays to Lapland. Depending on route this is 8.6-10 miles. maybe this could be it?

I think the pic as "OF": O = circle of button and F = Finger,

    That's what I can think.

    Good Luck to all :rudolf:

As it's a red button I would think it's referring to "off" - which would be used for "of"
