credit card compensation

in Credit cards
I had a call from a company who said they had details of my credit card historys and that I could reclaim all the interest on 4 credit cards for up to 12 years. They of course wanted a fee (£299) up front, but also reclaimable. I can see from this site that its possible to do this, but I dont actually know if I have been overcharged as I dont keep statements going back that far. Is what they are saying true though. Are card companies really repaying all the interest regardless. I questioned how they had got my details and mobile number and they said through sources provided but within data protection. I am at the lowest of the low - debt wise. I have negotiated my own repayments with most of my debtors but if there is a chance to get some back should I put the hours in and try?

Don't waste your £299.
If they were going to succeed on your behalf, they'd charge when they win for you - not up front.
It's a scam.0 -
I agree, they said no win no fee but I had to pay first and they would add to the claim. If I had £299 to spare I would eat more! Hahaha.0

They will charge you, they will say they will try, they will try, they will lose, they have fulfilled what they said they would, they will keep your money.
It it was 100% guaranteed, they would be quite happy to bill yu at the end of it.

They are called Lifestyle Claims. I'm always a bit concerned when calls like this come through they knew my mobile (obviously) and my name. If they know I have debts/credit cards they clearly are buying lists from my creditors.0

Yes, you may find you get a number of phone calls from similar companies. It is always worthwhile to check your third party preferences with all creditors. Also make sure you use the telephone and mail preference service.Don't thank me, thank my post :T

it is genuine, they can get you the money back but only if your account is in credit.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
