How to compression 1500 pictures quickly

Hi all, I want to upload all my photo albums on to the WWW as my friends are spreading all over the globe but have found that most of my pics are over 1mb. Is thery any software out there that can quickly reduce the size of the pictures in bulk??

1500 pictures is still going to take you a while whatever compression/resizing method you use but if you google "batch image resizing", you will find programs that can do it quickly for you so that you can upload them.

Irfanview will do it and its free.

Go to File menu, Batch conversion and rename
Add the files you want to the left (input) window
Tick Use advanced options box, Click the Set advanced options button
Tick resize and so on

Suggest you try one or two for a start just to get the size right.
And output the files to a different directory to prevent any chance of overwriting the originals. HTH
