DVB-T plus (help please)

I recently got a new LCD monitor for my PC so of course my Aunt saw it and wanted one as well ! She has been using a DVB-T plus thingy to watch telly for about a year or so but when I fitted the new monitor to her PC it stopped working properly. It will load up and play the channels sometimes but will then just freeze after about 2 minutes or so.

Any ideas ?

    what freezes, the PC, the application, or the picture?

    If the latter, it may be a problem with the signal/aerial or interference.

    Not sure to be honest. The whole DVB thing seems to freeze. I thought it might be too many processes running at the same time so I shut down almost everything as a trial but it still froze ! The PC is running on a 256 processor with a 64mb graphics card.

  • Now I am really tearing what is left of my hair out. I REALLY need help on this one.

    I have tried everything with her aerial .....it works absolutely fine with every other appliance in the world. The PC video card is perfect, works everything it should. The sound card is fine, works everything it should. Today I went and bought her a new DTV dongle. It came with the usual bits and pieces, CD driver, manual etc etc Loaded it up as specified and I got 11 channels. Went to change channels and lo and behold lost all channels and can't get any of them back. Tried reloading a million times, unplugging etc etc etc but nothing. Checked the Aeriel again all fine, really getting angry now what am I going to do ? anyone got any ideas please I'm pleading :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

    Dunno but you might get a clue here: http://www.!!!!!!.uk/tech/freeview_problems.htm

    Sounds like an interference problem to me. Have you tried moving the new monitor well away from everything?
  • Hi,

    It would seem that subsequent to me checking the kit again there appeared to have been a corruption on the programme. I uninstalled the whole lot again however I cannot re-load it because every time I put in the CD and try to load up the software it comes up with an error message in a box headed;

    Component transfer error
    Component: Main App
    File group: Editor Eng
    File: F:\DVBT Plus\data2.cab
    Error: Data Error (Cyclic redundancy Check)

    I googled it and seems that the CD may be damaged in the wrong place.

    Any ideas for a fix or any suggestions ?

    I tried the manufacturers website to get a new CD but it doesn't look like they send them out.
