For some of those machines you can buy plastic pods that you fill yourself, imagine with varying degrees of success and mess.

Dolce Gusto pods can be refilled but it involves a lot of messing about.

E.S.E pods (most commonly used in Senseo machines & numerous proper espresso coffee machines) will take pad filters rather than pods.

Several other types available too if you make a search for 'coffeeduck' on amazon or ebay.

Older models of Nespesso machines (pre June 2010) can take these refillable pods although they can only be used 3 times so they actually work out almost as expensive as buying new pods.

Tassimo pods cannot be refilled & there are no refillable pods available as they rely on the barcode printed on the pod to tell the machine how to make the drink.

I have a Dolce Gusto Chattie and they only take the Dolce Gusto pods, can recommend the Latte Machiato and the Hot Chocolates, so yummy. They're not the cheapest but taste just as good as take away coffee in my opinion at a fraction of the price.
It will only accept Dolce Gusto capsules so you are limited to a choice of 24 different drinks unless they expand the range.

Thanks for that I think 24 different drinks will be fine.

We use a tassimo, I love the decaff and hot chocs (milka one is divine), Hubby orders direct from tassimo, the box had a £20 voucher if you spent £40 so he stocked up on loads of diff coffees.

  • If you check the beforeishop website earlier this week they were giving away coupons for free boxes of the new cadburys hot choc tassimo pods. you can normally print 2 vouchers per computer. Hth

If you don't own a Tassimo machine then the free pods are still worth getting if you like cadburys hot chocolate as you can just open them up, empty the contents into a cup/mug & add hot water from a kettle. It may take a few seconds longer to make your free hot chocolate this way but it is considerably cheaper than buying a machine.
