I've just won a Tassimo T40 coffee machine on the comps board:D I've never had a machine like this before, after a bit of research I see the pods are quite expensive so my first question is is there an alternative? My second quesion is where is the best place to buy the originals? and my last question is if you have tried drinks from this machine whats your favourite? Thanks for any help:)
Thank you for this site Martin

The full range of pods are available direct from Tassimo.

There will be special offers in supermarkets or on websites such as amazon grocery from time to time which would work out cheaper though.
Personally I think all the machines that only take pods are a waste of money & you are better off with a kettle which gives you a much wider choice of beverages you can make for a fraction of the price & far more control over the taste so you can tailor drinks to your own taste rather than having them the way the pod machine designers believe you should drink them.
If I won a coffee pod machine I would either sell it on an auction site or simply give it away if I knew anyone who wanted one.0 -
I really like my Tassimo machine and it's a kitchen gadget that we use daily. We tend to buy the pods when they are on offer and stock up on them. I'm not aware of any alternative other than the actual Tassimo ones.
Our favourite is the Latte Macchiato, although I did once buy a caramel version which was absolutely wonderful but only saw it in the supermarket that one time, it then disappeared! There is nothing better in life than writing on the sole of your slipper with a biro.....0 -
Thanks:) I've just been on the Tassimo site and registered myself, I'll register the machine when it gets here, they send you a £20 voucher when you do so:) I shop in Morrisons and sometimes Tesco so I'll keep an eye out for deals too, I've wanted one of these machines for ages but was far to tight to pay for one;)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

If you find a variety you like, Amazon are usually pretty good for bulk buying them.
My family love our Tassimo, faves being the Milka hot chocolate and latte Macchiato0 -
I've just ordered a Krupps Dulce Gusto machine for a friend from Comet, only £49, and was wondering about these pods, do you have to buy the ones to match your machine or would Tassimo fit in this Krupps machine?
Amazon seems to be the best place for buying in bulk having checked there this morning.0 -
I have a Dolce Gusto Chattie and they only take the Dolce Gusto pods, can recommend the Latte Machiato and the Hot Chocolates, so yummy. They're not the cheapest but taste just as good as take away coffee in my opinion at a fraction of the price. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

I've had a Tassimo for years, but over the past year or so it's been gathering dust in our garage due to the cost of the pods. Brilliant machine though, and the coffee tastes wonderful.
We tend to dust the cobwebs off the machine for special occasions. lol.
Enjoy :-)0 -

For some of those machines you can buy plastic pods that you fill yourself, imagine with varying degrees of success and mess.
I used to ahve a Nespresso and loved the coffee, but hated the cost and waste and fact it was not fairtrade.Eating Out of the Storecupboards Challenge.
