Adobe Reader X problem

I upgraded from Adobe9 to AdobeX and now find PDF files I saved under version 9 will not open. I get what looks like random letters and numbers instead of the file which was saved. Can anyone tell me how to solve his problem?

Ditch Adobe and go for Foxit Reader, http://www.foxitsoftware.com/Secure_PDF_Reader/0
