  • White Wizard from Lakeland is the most amazing stain remover I've come across. It's completely odourless and looks a bit like white/clear waxy shoe polish. No idea what's in it but it has completely taken out all manner of stains on all manner of fabric/carpet type surfaces for me (including red wine stains on a pale yellow sofa) without causing any damage.

I can vouch for White Wizard too. It even removes tough gun grease (dont ask!) The other thing is that white wine thrown on red wine gets its out completely (and a shed load of kitchen roll) or salt on the red wine.

Have tried all the above on the stain left when I managed to tip over a full cafetier. Actually not White Wizard, I don't have a handy Lakeland. But I finally had success with Stain Remover from Pets at Home. It smells nice too.

  • I recently hired a rugdoctor and used stardrops instead of their detergent, it came up really nice, and it cost me 86p to do the whole house :) also works well on small stains done by hand ( the white stardrops shifted sick and pet stains) i rub it dry after with an old towel
