Does it matter whether someone is on benefits or not or for what reason? Surely the most important thing is lives are saved. If you don't qualify then buy one, for £10 it could save your life- it did mine!

Wow, my post caused a bit of a stir didn't it? :rotfl::rotfl:

Yes, yes, I know I've been here a long time, I know I have 4 stars, I know I should know better, but to be honest, I think this post is an important one.

Unfortunately, year after year we read of people, children, families, dying from carbon monoxide poisoning and thought it would be nice to remind people that as it's winter and we switch our heaters back on, a detector could save your life :D

My mistake was not posting a Grabbit with it.

I cannot believe the reaction it caused though, and I hope to God that the troll and the 'oh my God, she has posted on the wrong board' posters never find themselves wishing they had installed one (or do they have one installed and so 'I'm alright Jack?'

Anyway, due to the troll and his friends, this post has been bumped a few times (thankyou) and maybe someone will go out and buy one and report back one day that it was the best thing they ever did.

Oh, and just for the record, I live in a council house, I'm not on benefits and I paid myself to have a detector put in about 8 years ago. Peed on your bonfire Sir (not so) Brainy!!!!!! :rotfl::rotfl:

I agree with Exel ..Som'e one with 4 stars should no better than anyone to stick there ..'I dont care'..attitude on here....I could say Wear a seat belt...dont drink and drive...blah blah blah...But I will just say dont abuse the site..cos you want to spout your stuff..Try The money savers alms...Oh yes and for once I dont care what I am saying

When you buy a car, seatbelts are installed ready to use.

When you drink, you know not to drive.

This post was about going out of your way to purchase a piece of kit that can potentially save your life ... a piece of kit that isn't already installed for you to use, and one that many people don't even think to buy, but should.

I never posted it to 'spout my stuff' .. I posted it because I had read an article in the paper and thought it was a timely reminder.

I hope you have one installed!

Just had a quick glance through your post history and seems you have nothing better to do than moan about where posts are. Funny thing is, for every post you moan in, you bump it up again :rotfl::rotfl:

    Thankyou :D

You may of commited the crime of posting on the wrong board (how could you ;)) but at least you can sleep easy tonight, partly as your protected by your alarm and secondly by starting this topic you might of saved a life :)
