I have been thinking about starting a new diary for a while. I have been playing around with figures today, and realised that I could be debt free in 29 months.
Before I can start tackling my debts, I need to pay my mum back the money I owe her (around £1,800) and get my bills up-to-date. So I have set the target of 1,000 days (around 33 months) to give myself 4 months to pay back my mum and get my bills sorted out.
Anyway, a bit about me. I am 30 years old, I live with my OH (been together nearly 11 years, but he only moved in 1 year ago), and I have Cystic Fibrosis. My health has hindered me slightly in the past, but I have recently started using a nebuliser and it has had a very positive effect on my lungs :j. So I would like to take the opportunity of feeling good to get rid of the debts, so that I can slow down as I get older.
I am self-employed and work from home as it's better for my health. I often talk about my niece (4 years old) and nephew (3 months old) as they mean the world to me.
Here is a link to my old diary - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3060964
So my 1,000 days starts tomorrow - end date 5th August 2014.

hi Emz happy new diary
when you realise that you have a relatively short time to go with debt busting it can be a big motivator!
Good luck with paying it all off, and I am so glad that you have found some medication that helps with the CF that must be such a bonus, in terms of the extra energy etc you will have

Thanks for the replies everyone
. Feeling good today

I've just won £20 on the free JPJ game :j. Perfect timing as I owe my OH £20, so I am all square with him now. I've just done the Tesco car insurance quote for the 300 free Clubcard points. Fingers crossed that comes through, although I save my points for Christmas, so won't get them until next year. Also done a couple of surveys.
I'm going round my friend's house in an hour. She has had a really bad time recently and is off sick with stress. Only staying there for a couple of hours and then my sister is taking my niece bowling. I will go with them, but won't play, as I would rather have the £4 in my pocket.

Yay, new diary!
Mine was nearly 900 days when I started counting. It's a great way to do it, gives you nice little mini goals.
I'm sure you will do it!Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -

Thanks Beccie and Elantan
.
Had a nice couple of hours with my friend this morning - seemed to cheer her up a bit. Just come back from bowling and the price as gone up to £6. So glad I didn't play. I can bowl as much as I like when I've got my Wii (am definitely getting one for Christmas).
Scored a few freebies today. My mum got me a couple of big bottles of 7up when she went shopping and I received my washing powder to trial - a 25-wash pack of Surf.

Just received a lovely letter from a DCA regarding one of my Lloyds TSB debts. They are 'pleased' to inform me that Lloyds TSB are prepared to accept £821.14 instead of the £1,173.06 that I actually owe. Here is my reply:
Dear Mr DCA
Thank you for your kind offer. Unfortunately, if I did have just over £800 stashed away, I wouldn't be sending it to you. I would be paying off some bills and giving it to my hard-working mum. However, you are second on my list of creditors to pay off (be pleased with that!), so if I do receive a big windfall by the 17th, then I will be sure to accept your kind offer.
I was also very pleased to read that my debt is £28 less than I thought. This has made my day!!
Best wishes

The flat is looking decidedly messy - so I am dedicating until 8pm this evening as 'tidy time'.
Be back later.
