I think the problems have started over the last few years - they used to make very good, very reliable ovens. Then, I think, the accountants took over, decided to pare down the costs, and the result was inevitable - falling reliability.

I'll bear that in mind when it eventually needs replacing (hopefully many years from now!)

I hope it is a long way off - you'll probably be fine, because Neff did once make very good ovens. I had no doubts at all when we bought ours, but I'd never, ever, buy another one.

Take a look at these Amazon reviews, for example:

looks like Im not alone then with the 200 deg = 185 deg C "being normal" oven then based on their reviews
  • Oh Dear, but its good to hear others are having problems with their Neff Oven.

We had one for 20 years with no problems. Lesley became a baking wizard and she enjoyed consistent excellent baking results.

Then we bought a B1442W0GB and have had nothing but baking disasters ever since. Despite visits from tgheir field engineers, visits also from their home economists, Lesley has lost all confidence in her baking skills.

They have even replaced the oven and the results are still usesless. Cakes rise, then collapse right at the end of cooking time.

    Neff says "alter your recipe"

I dont think that is the point.

Anyone have ideas on how to work around the shortfalls of these ovens?
