Drop and go signing.

  • Oh, I wondered what drop and sign was! I thought it was for people on sickness benefit or something. Well Im never offered any help or advice from the staff, most are friendly but a couple are control freaks and bullies, only to be expected I suppose. I'll ask about it, doubt I'll get on it though. :(

What exactly IS this "Drop 'n Sign" procedure? Would it obviate the need for you to hang around the jobcentre every fortnight until they call you up to sign?

How is this 'drop and go' different to just signing on every 2 weeks. When I was signing on I'd go in, give my booklet, get called over, they glanced at the booklet and I was out again within two minutes.

And how do they assess you are doing everything you can? Does it go on job search activity in your booklet?

For me yes it did, id fil the form in like what i woud do with the booklet then hand it in at a pre determined time and day(for me I dropped it off on the same day I was due to sign on). I think I saw an advisor maybe once when I was on drop and go.

You go every 2 weeks but all you would do is drop off the form (detailing ones job search) and just go, so instead of sitting waiting for an advisor you could spend 5 minutes in the queue and your out. As i said above i think i saw an advisor maybe once whilst I wa son D 'n' G. The form was 2 sided so page was for week 1 and page 2 was for week 2, first time I saw the advisor he gave me 4 of these sheets so that covered a months period of job searching and the next time I saw an advisor I was given another 4.

    Think I covered everything.

Well Im never offered any help or advice from the staff,

What do you expect the staff to do ?

its also for people who are on the new deal.
You mean the Work Programme...and no it isn't, because I still have to see an adviser and piddle about with the booklets.

The JC is of no help and never has been. They are just admin people only there to stamp your book and, if you're unlucky, stop your benefit and condemn you to death.
