When should I change banks?

Options
I am following Martin's advice regarding reclaiming bank charges and have a question.

I am currently with Barclays and have set up a new account with the Alliance and Leicester as recommended on this site.

I have sent off the first letter to request details of the last six years charges - no response so far but it is only a week.

The A&L account has much better terms than my Barclays account so I would like to move across sooner rather than later to take advantage.

So the question is - when should I move and should I leave the Barclays account open rather than closing it or should I continue to use Barclays until the bank charges are sorted?

Many thanks

Mark

If you get much better terms at A&L, move your account over ASAP. It's your choice whether you keep the Barclays account open or not. If you close it, I would do this after the claim (if you close it during the claim, they may be that little bit more awkward with you).
