Was happy with my Gap coat purchases with 25% off until I received an email offering 40% off this morning.

Considered just re-purchasing again but one of the sizes is no longer available.

Ponder ponder (would save me £7 on each coat if I re-order)

Is the offer online only? Otherwise I'm sure you could just take it to the store for a price match?

It's in store too (with printed voucher), but - I'm a 50 mile round trip from a Gap and the colour DS2 wants is an online exclusive.

I've reordered but with his coat the next size up.... I will just return the other order and swap the coat over, hoping that they don't realise I'm returning a different size. Sure they won't really be bothered anyway!!

I hate paying more than I have to!!

Good luck with reducing the food spends. Always good those a challenge. Good news the phone seemed to survive the WM. Think the money will better off in your pocket than g@p's!!

So, I was meant to be in a far flung destination with work this week but at the last moment the trip was cancelled by the airline due to a Volcanic ash cloud! So, instead of being in tropical climes... here I am at my desk! On the bright side, the journey was of epic proportions and was only going to be for 2 nights (although it would have kept me from home Mon-Fri), so all good. Rescheduling for next year instead....

After the multiple Gap orders for the best price on the coat, I totally ballsed it all up by ordering sizes too big.... and the coats were no good. The smaller sizes are sold out in their chosen colours, so they're being returned!

The phone is still working however various functions just don't seem to work - the camera, the speaker and the iMessage seems iffy - but I think that's more to do with DS1 ignoring my requests for him to come home! I'm not holding out much hope of it lasting very long, but I suppose anytime is better than nothing.

DS2's JISA is happily up and running, but DS1's and my S&S ISA seems to be taking longer to transfer for various reasons. Hopefully they'll be sorted soon enough....

Nipped in to town yesterday and bought a couple of Christmas gifts, so that's a few more ticked off the list. We're being extremely restrained, so feeling chuffed with selves!

Lots of rain here this morning!

DS2 went off to school in his PJ's today (Children in Need theme at his school). He seemed slightly nervous about it at first, but then had a big smile on his face.

Hospital with DS1 yesterday for his 3 monthly check up. All fine and doing well which is great news.

Seems to have been a really spendy month this month with house insurance and the children needing new Winter coats. Also got them a couple of new tops each as their wardrobes were just full of T-Shirts once I'd cleared out everything that was too small :(

Coupled with some Christmas shopping it feels like spend spend spend. Can't see that it will get any better until the New Year. Grrrrr

It's frustrating isn't it when you are trying to budget but expenses arise beyond your control. I dread to think how Christmas shopping will deplete our current account.

  • On pyjama days I am always a bit concerned that some may have just got out of bed and not washed!
Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D

I suspect many may do just that! We made sure DS2 had his pants on underneath his jammy bottoms... we also bought him (more expense) new PJ's as his are all shorts and t-shirt sets and he would have been freezing in them!

I know! We have a spreadsheet with gift ideas on it along with a budget and we're doing our best to stick to it. I've been putting some money aside for the last few months, but I still don't like having to spend it! Especially when still so wiped out from the extension and new kitchen etc :(
