Just goes to show that this forum is good for staying motivated.... after whinging about my o/s mortgage balance I decided I needed to do something, so I withdrew a little bit from whats left of my ISA to make an Overpayment
Every little helps...

Kitchen sounds fab! Christmas at home will be lovely, I think a simple day is much less stressful and tbh my children want to be at home with their presents.

You're absolutely right - children just want to be at home and play with their toys... and, who can blame them! I used to hate being bundled in to a car to visit relatives when I was little. Miserable little so and so that I was!0 -
Astounded to discover that the daily interest on my mortgage is no £11 per day. Jeeeez, that should provide enough motivation to try and stick to the plan!0

Switched energy tariffs yesterday.... saves £13 per month (allegedly)0

I share your pain re. house expenses. We haven't even got the keys to our new one and we spent ££££ during September
Congratulations on the new energy tariff. Perhaps you could increase your OPs to capture the difference?0 -

Wow, congrats on the new home, that's wonderful news... always a very expensive time. It'll be so worth it once you get moved in, but all of the ££££'s spent makes your head spin, especially if you're so used to being very frugal.
The max I can OP is 10% p.a. as I have a 10 year fixed rate deal which started last month. It'll take us a good few months to be able to OP at anywhere near that sort of level, but hopefully all good things permitting, we'll aim to do the full 10% (although I just can't imagine doing so with the current financial situation).
Hope you and Mrs Ed and both well0
