Not yet visited in the summer but we are planning to at some point. We got engaged in Austria 2 and a half years ago so there is quite a pull to go back each year, I would love to go to that resort in the summer. TBH if we had 4 proper seasons in this country I would probably go away less.
Agreed although it is nice to have a proper getaway from home too. We've a few days down near the new forest to look forward to at the end of the month but that will most likely be it for this year. No idea about holiday plans for next year yet........0 -

Morning Lula/all
I had thought that the FD thingy (or tool as we seems to be calling it nowhow corporate speak of us
) was only for 'strictly' financial stuff, bank accounts etc but to my amazement it does other accounts too e.g. Br1tish Telecom, Br G@s etc not to mention a range of loyalty cards such as hotel point schemes etc, I really can't believe how much it can do :j

My business partner is from Austria, he lives in the uk now but has a lot of family there. I've visited a few times for a few days here and there and it really is stunning. Have you ever been in the summer? The lakes are breathtaking.
Hi Lula
That's fabulous, lucky you being able to visit and with a native born person too to show you around. I absolutely lurrrrrrve Austria, had loads of winter holidays there but have always wanted to see it in the summer. There's not a thing I don't like about Austria, the food, the people, the scenery, the lifestyle approach, the houses, all amazing. I'm particularly fond of the Tyrol area. In many ways I also find it a far more civilised and advanced country than ours...

I was smiling away as I read your email, as my BP is always saying how backwards they are over there in regards to business and being prudish amongst other things. Such a stunning place though...... I'm hoping to pop over for a few days in the next few months. One thing that did strike me though is how sociable the people are and family still seems to be really important with all the generations getting together at every opportunity. And, I was amazed at how many people still smoke, then again, I find that a lot on my travels.. Apart from in the states of course.0 -
Hubby at work and wer're all still in jams. Oops.
Ds1 wasn't feeling too well again last night, still suffering from stomach cramps since what I think was food poisoning last weekend.... So we all unanimously decided we would have a lazy day until DH gets back later.
The boys have been having a lovely time playing and a friend has come round to join them too.
Whilst they've been distracted I got the urge to change my kitchen cupboards around. I've binned lots of stuff and there's a big pile of "stuff" for hubby to sort through when he is back. He's a hoarder and I just bin stuff so to be on the safe side I put a pile to one side so that he can check it first.
I've also relocated the coffee machine, microwave etc.
DH is going to be totally lost when he comes back and I'm sure he'll declare my changes terrible but he'll get used to it.
I'd been meaning to make everything more logical for years. When we first moved in I felt totally spoilt by all the cupboard space and didn't really know where to start when we unpacked. Anyway, in nearly 7 years I never changed it so its about time I moved it all around really. Btw 7 years on, my kitchen feels small and I don't have enough cupboard space!0 -

You can NEVER have too much cupboard space Lula .... Ideally I could do with a Narnia stylee cupboard. Even then I'd like to have more cupboard space:cool:February13 - £74990 (or thereabouts)
MND - Let's go for 2020 'cos it's got a nice ring to it:D
C'mon nattypants:cool:0 -
In money news....
I've still got a bit of "bonus" to take from work from last years profit, so I put through a bit last month and will take the rest probs next month. I'll then need to wait until next year before any more bonus so I need to be sensible what to do with it.
It's ds2's birthday soon and DH has got him a new bike, so I will pay for that with it. Also, he's having his first proper party so will cover that too. I think I'll put some aside for some decorating and house bits and pieces and pay what is left (prob not much) off the mortgage. So hopefully I'll be close to achieving the 2013 OP target I set soon.
I've just realised that I always say "I" instead of "we" when I talk about what's happening with the money, overpayments and mortgage etc. Does anyone else doe the same?0 -

I'd love more space full stop! Just looking around my kitchen, I do love it but my eyes have bee drawn to the top of the cupboards........ That's a whole other story. Eyesore. DH just stuffs things up there whereas I'd just bin it if there was no room for it. If it can live up there for years without being brought down, then for me it might aswell be binned.
This is making me think now of sorting out the side board in the lounge. It's stuffed full. If I ever want to put anything in there I can't because its full of things that have not seen the light of day since we bought it 5 years ago. So, next stop, project side board, but maybe not today, I need to clear out one thing at a time of my hoarder husband might be pushed too far.0 -
Good luck with the sideboard decluttering. When we did this earlier in the year we found loads of things to eb@y and cart boot.
On the I vs We topic - I think I probably write I more than We as Mr T is happy to go with the flow but not interested in tracking it and making the OPs as I am. He and the kids are really supportive of the journey we are (although temporarily standing still) on, but I can't say he's really interested in the 'back office' stuff.
Enjoy your relaxing day and I bet the kitchen looks fab.

Thanks Tilly.... Your DH sounds similar to mine. It's nice that the G's in our life have faith in us and let us get on with things.... Enjoy your weekend too xx0
