Does anyone hold an American bank account,
On working lunch today they suggested that for anyone planning a trip to America beyond 2007 it would be a good idea to open an American bank account.

Yes, I hold a 'proper' American bank account with HSBC in New York.
However, what Working Lunch was suggesting is that you open a US Dollar account here in the UK.
Most banks offer these including:
HSBC
Abbey
Lloyds
Citibank
In my opinion though, it only really makes sense if you have a lot of money to change from GBP to USD or if you travel to America a lot.
Otherwise, you may as well just but USD travellers cheques if you want to lock in some holiday spending money at current exchange rates.

Good suggestion
I was thinking of 'tying up' £3000.0
