Wanna Buy a Baby Grobag Sleeping Bag thingie!!

  • asda, tesco etc. don't do toddler sized bags. my baby is a giraffe and i searched everywhere for a larger bag for him. txmaxx have grobags in sometimes if you're lucky but i couldn't find one. mothercare etc. ones that go up to about 2 years were too small for my baby by the time he was 8 months old so i looked for 1 tog to replace them because the warmer weather was coming - and gritted my teeth and paid what i had to.

anyway, the vertbaudet 1 tog are okay but are smaller than the grobags. he was out of his 36month vertbaudet one by a year old so i bought a 1-tog grobag and the cheapest place i found for large grobags was kiddicare.

    vertbaudet bags are here http://www1.vertbaudet.co.uk/cgi-bin/Vertbaudet.storefront/45bb557f001688042755d526bac60693/UserTemplate/53?qry=sleep]&actioned=yes&LowCount=1&maxfound=63&scope=/search_catalog/vertbaudet/&sid=45bb557f001688042755d526bac60693&oqry=sleep&sort=r
but i can't see the 1 tog that i bought, i can't see any for 3 year olds there. they charge packing but if you're a new customer you can get £10 off a £20 order. or look on hotdeals website for other discounts. depending on the size of your child a 2yr one might be okay.

but a 3yr one from grobag will probably last for more than one winter (or summer. depending on which tog you buy) so i'd say it's worth the price you found on kiddicare, that is a really good price!

  • Everyone's been saying GroBag's much better than the others, so we're going to go with that (+3.5% Cashback at Quidco :) ) .
  • I didnt like the grobag as it had a zip up the front not round the bottom and sides (inconvenient for nappy changes) and it had a towelling lining. I certainly wouldnt make myself sleep on a towel!
  • my grobag has cotton lining and the zip is at the side.

the original grobag ones are the best ones. i bought these and other cheaper supermarket ones and it did make a big difference. we used the grobag all the time and never needed the bedding we spent a fortune on :) i dont think you will find it cheaper that kiddicare although sometimes there are brand new ones on ebay. i sold my used ones on ebay and got nearly what i paid for them so its worth hanging on to them and reselling ;)

Totally agree with the above post. I managed to get a couple of the official grobags from kiddicare reduced to £9 just after Christmas. I sold my dd's old ones on ebay last year and got around £8 for them so not much of a loss. DS has been in them since he was born and dd was in them until 2. Don't pay full price if you can get them cheaper - when buying DD's - I used to keep an eye out at TK Max but haven't seen them there for a while. Only once paid full price at Mothercare - approx £24. They come in different styles, different togs and look out for either zipping up the front or along the sides.
So little money - so much time
  • I thought you meant a grobag for growing tomatoes! And wondered why the 'sleeping' bit. (getting mixed up between covering up poinsetta's to make them go red and care of tomoato plants)

My children all lived in their grobags and they are 20ish now - but I didn't know until tonight that's what they were called. l bought one and then made several copies.
