Website Malware Infection

Hi, Hope someone can help me.
I had an email informing me that my website has been infected by malware which I was unaware of.
I took the website down and reuploaded from my backup copy hoping that would cure the problem. I asked Google to check my site but received a reply saying it was still infected and it was a server problem.
I am at a total loss what to do next as I thought I must have cured the problem reuploading an uninfected copy.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Sue

if it's a server problem won't you need to contact your hosting provider to progress this ???......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple

Or did the Google checker look at a cached copy of your site, so didn't see that you'd reuploaded the files?0

did you delete everything on the server before re-uploading from your backup?0

You had an email informing you you had a virus? Who was the email from? Sounds like a scam to me.
Have you run malwarebytes?0
