Eventually I found out that they are not run by Sainsbury's themselves and as far as I can tell, Sainsbury's take no responsibility for the people they allow to use their name.

It's run by Global Media Vault, but Sainsbury's acquired that from MBL Group a few weeks ago.

You can get a complaint dealt with properly - but only if you go right to the top of Sainsbury's to complain. Complaints to Sainsbury's Entertainment get you, as you've pointed out, nowhere.

At the time I did. I had a reply telling me Justin King (Sainsbury's CEO) would contact me personally......more than 12 months later, I'm still waiting.

Then they have a lot of work if they want to improve the reputation of the site.

As for Turkishdreamer I'm glad to hear you haven't had any problems with them. Of course, my experience is a personal one but it was bad enough for me to remember it a year later and spend time warning people here...for your sake I hope you don't ever have cause to use their customer services or, if you do, Sainsbury's starts taking it seriously now they own it.

Price-wise I'm sure their "Deal of the Day" is competitive, that I don't dispute, but the rest of their prices? *shudders*

ive just had an email from sainsburys infoming me that the guiness world records book has gone oos and they have cancelled my order!

really annoyed as my son would have loved this, and considering i ordered it at 7am yesterday im pretty annoyed!! gonna ring cs and rant!

Amazon are offering this at £8.99 at the mo, so if you really can't get Sainsbugs to honour your order this isn't a bad price.
  • Had my despatch email last nite :j
    says estermated delivery is 19/11
    so i will wait & see :)
  • this happened with me on the Lee Evans book. I sent an email of complaint stating they had accepted my order and therefore should honour the deal and hey presto a couple of hours later i got the offer, may be worth 5 mins of your time.

    Great outcome for you!!

However they weren't under any legal obligation, here's an extract from their Ts&Cs:

"2.2 After placing an order, you will receive an e-mail from us acknowledging that we have received your order. Please note that this does not mean that your order has been accepted. Your order constitutes an offer to us to buy a Product. All orders are subject to acceptance by us, and we will confirm such acceptance to you by sending you an e-mail that confirms that the Product has been dispatched (the Dispatch Confirmation)..."

Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

    Yes.

To be fair the email I got today says they haven't got enough in stock to fulfil my order so they're trying to get some more. Or something. But I'm not holding my breath.
