is this normal?? sorry if this is a silly question. what i mean is when you open up task manager, all other tasks are neglible (0 to 2 per cent). thanks all

it means that there is 80% of the processor not being used, so is ok. The PC can go 100mph, and you are toddling along at 20mph

If you have nothing particularly computer demanding then it should be alot lower than what it current is (80%).

Next time this happenes sort the processes by size and see whats taking up most of the RAM.

Although if you get pulled over for speeding, you can't say "my 80 mph is slower than yours".

thanks as always albertross. yes, pc is running 'normally' etc but just noticed when i bought up task manager that this was the case.
