Hi All
I am hoping that somebody can help me. I am running Windows XP Pro and trying to open Microsoft Outlook 2000. I have been able to open it for about the last 5 months but now 9 times out of 10 it does not open.
When I press CTRL, ALT & DEL I can see an Outlook process running but no program opens. I have tried ending the process and trying again but only rarely does it work.
Can anyone out there help me out to stop me having to try hundreds of times just to open my email
Thanks
Benjo

Hi,
Yeah seems to open fine.0 -
Assuming that you are virus free..?
It could be a corrupt PST file, or ost file, or corrupt installation/registry settings.
Do you have the installation CD?
you could try renaming the ost file, or using some of these startup parameters.

Cheers0 -
I have done the first step on the Microsoft site but it has not found the Outlook.exe file path but has just found an apllicate path. It has also found XSoft Spy Logs and a couple of file similar to OUTLOOK.EXE-1D3BEDBF in the C:\Windows\Prefetch along with loads of Logitech\setpoint\devices\pointingdevice (wireless mouse) files.
Any Idea? surely if Ii never had an .EXE file the program would never open?0 -
The link I put up was for outlook 2002, couldn't find the 2000 version, if you do a search for outlook.exe from the root of c: it should find it.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

It must be there, otherwise you wouldn't be able to start it, look at the properties of the icon.
You could try an office update:

or if you don't need the contact management, outlook express or thunderbird.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0
