Is there anyone who offers time slots, or who has depots for drop offs?
Or would I be best off going to the post office?
It's a 5kg parcel 110cm long, 45cm wide, and 15cm deep - some information I have read seems to suggest that the post office has a size limit, is this corect?

That would be well within the post office, you might be OK with https://www.hermes-europe.co.uk, as you can leave the parcel in a safe place and the courier will collect when you are not in, although if you want to drop the parcel off at a depot then it might be wise to ring the courier you choose to check that your depot will allow drop-offs before booking normally through someone like interparcel or parcelmonkey etc and then remember to ring the depot the evening before collection to make sure they don't send a van out for you.0

How about collect plus?
There are not that many shops around me but there may be for you, they take upto 10kg from the website? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Also says on the collectplus site: How can Collect+ help me trade on eBay?
Collect+ provides eBay traders with a convenient new 3-5 day option for 'Economy Delivery'. Our network of drop-off locations are open early 'til late and often 7 days a week. You can pay with PayPal or credit/debit card and our prices start from £3.99 including VAT and £50 cover.
Our online tracking and 'proof of delivery' ensures your parcels are delivered in line with eBay Buyer Protection guidelines - making any buyer claims quicker and easier to resolve.

You'd be refused at collect+ as the maximum allowed length for a collect+ parcel is 50cm, so your parcel would be over the double the maximum allowed legnth0

The collect plus website says:We accept parcels measuring up to 50x30x30cm and you can send all kinds of things with
Collect+. But, sadly, there are some we have to say no to, such as works of art, money,
glass, liquids and hazardous goods. Please read our terms and conditions for more

aah, that looked great, till I found the bit where it says...
Size and Weight Guidelines:
You can send packages measuring up to 10kg and 50 x 30 x 30cm
they do tuck these things away!
eta ... written before I'd spotted the posts above!! ^^
it;s worth knowing about for future parcel postings though!0 -
You can drop off parcels at City Link depots. Book the collection as usual and then call the depot with the reference and let them know it will be dropped off so they don't send a driver around for it.0

You could send it Standard Parcels from the post office. For up to 6kgs it would be £10.34 (I don't know how much the couriers charge) This will give you compensation up to £46. Up to £100 = £13.41. Up to £250 = £15.41. Up to £500 - £16.61.
The maximum measurements are
up to 1.5meters long.
up to 3meters combined length and girth
Don't know if that's any help to you, OP, maybe a help to someone
Incidentally, OP, you could have sent it weight wise as 1st class post but not size wise. The limits for that are 610mm x 460mm x 460mm.
Posters & rolled items 900mm max length (length + twice diameter no more than 1040mm)
I don't work for the post office I just spent an awfully long time browsing their website to find these limits so might as well share them
