Oven heating problem, any ideas please?

I have a Belling DB3 oven and suddenly it has stopped heating up. The red light still lights and the fan still turns. I have replaced the element thinking that is the most likely fault but still have the same problem.

Is there anyone that may be able to offer some advice? Thanks

  • I don't have have a Belling oven but the only thing I can think of is a faulty thermostat.
  • I had the same problem in a Neff many years ago, and it was the thermostat.

Thanks for the replies, I will try that before condemning the oven the scrap heap.

Now I am stumped. I have used the 'conventional' part of the main oven and the temperature seems to be regulated, I presume by the thermostat, so now I am not sure if it is the thermostat as if it was surely it wouldnt work for the conventional part either?

I have checked the connections again and made sure they are nice and tight and it is still not working. Could anyone else have any ideas?

    Thanks
  • Just wondered if they have thermocouples. My mother's cheap Beko (don't they make Belling cookers now?) stopped working and I traced it to a faulty thermocouple - it becomes open circuit and the juice does not get through. If yours is the same then they are £6 off ebay.
