Hi, its been a joy that since last year when our baby came to life, we see our bank account toped up with 80.00 quid a month (child benefit)
i own a small company where i am the driving force manually and paperwork, i think last year wages = 38.000 and my wife on the part time , tax free income.
recently , wife goes to college full time ie 3 days a week till 6 pm and we got a nany at 50 a day, which sort of makes it like i am paying 2 mortgages now
someone told me at the playground that if i send it to nursery we can qualify for childcare help as long as total wages of me and wife are les than 45000?
also , last year i filled for tax credits i think, and send it recorded delivery- never got an answer ..
i emailed my accountant and hopefully get some acurate figures tomorrow of my wages , so would be grateful if anyone can advise re childcare and tax credits

Use this site:

It will calculate any benefits and/or tax credits you may be entitled to.

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.

The entitlement tables are here http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/taxcredits/people-advise-others/entitlement-tables/work-and-child/work-pay-childcare.htm
you both need to be working over 16 hours for any assistance with childcare and even if your wife is doing 16 hours at minimum wage it looks like your combined income will be too high for any childcare costs.
My daughter had this problem with childcare costs for study (she also works) and has had to defer her course until her son starts school0 -
you BOTH need to be working 16 hours a week or more to even be considered for help with childcare. as you wife is at college and not in paid employment, you wont qualify0
