Myself and 16 workmates are going on the 25th of Feb. What can we expect from the resort? Out of the 17 of us 12-13 have never skied before so looking forward to a real good laugh.
Just looking for some general hints and tips about the place. One this that does concern us a little is that we have heard a few horror stories about people trying to scam you even in the hotels as regards to exchanging your money ect ect.
Thanks,
Pete.

You will have a fab time! I went with a huge group a couple of times to Borovets and we had a ball!! Its great for beginners as far as the slopes go, but as the resort is so small compared to others, in , say France, very experienced skiers may get bored with the runs after a few days.
What hotel are you staying at? We stayed at the Samakov, and another big one is the Rila. Obviously there are other biggish hotels but these are the main 2 i think, with their own ski schools etc. Skji schools are very cheap compared to otherresorts in france, austria etc.
Never encountered any problems with exchanging money at hotel - just a normal exchange service! The only thing i got ripped off with was some ciggies bought from a guy who had set up a stall on the street outside a nightclub. Looking back, it was obviously quite dodgy - he just had a table set up with pics of the packets on , then he went in the club to get them when you told him what you want. They weren't the brand they were meant to be , but hey ho, i was just a bit stupid! That kind of thing could happen in any holiday resort!
When you are on the coach from the airport, you will encounter some obvious poverty. This is not so evident in the resort. There are a few people begging etc but again, no more so than other places.
Don't know what types of things you like to do - but there is an abundance of bars/nightclubs, all with great happy hrs , cheap drinks etc!! There is also an ice skating rink in case you fancy a change from skiing, the ususal touristy shops ( can get quite good "copies" of brands ), some hotels have pools, massage, bowling alley etc etc.
Am sure you will have a great time! Am v jealous - not going skiing this season!
