Help needed please.

Could anyone give me some advice please?

I can't find a solution to my computer problems, Windows 7 updates constantly fail, the Windows 7 troubleshooter does not complete - telling me 'a problem is preventing troubleshooter from starting' and I keep getting error code 0x80070005.

Have you logged in as an Administrator?

Also try running the troubleshooter with Admin privileges. To do that, right click on the Troubleshooter you would like to launch and then select “Run as an Administrator.”

Steve, thanks but don't know if the hotfix would have worked as comp wont open it at all.

Mary, thanks but can't run the troubleshooter at all, even as admin - 0x80070005 error. Going round in circles here, may have to reinstal Windows 7.

I've already tried 'system restore' but this doesn't help either.

Do you have another pc/laptop that you can download the hotfix onto then transfer via memory stick/cd
