  • I also need a new controller as one of ours doesn't work properley but they are so expensive considering the great offers about for a new wii which includes a controller! Would be very interested if anyone knows of the best (cheapest!) place to purchase one!! x

Looking at the Family Edition on Pixmania, it comes with a controller (wiimote), a nunchuch, console and the two games.

I took a gamble on one of these additional remotes (its a clone) on Ebay
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/220864152125

It has built in motion-plus too. Its virtually identical to the original Nintendo Motion Plus one that came with my Wii and fits accessories the same, has the nunchuck with it too.

Links to the Wii fine and I have played it back to back with the original and its good! It seems very slightly more jittery over small distances but not enough to interfere with lets say typing onscreen keyboards. Its just as sensitive for normal motion and playing something like Mario Kart I couldn't tell them apart. Unbelievable value.

    Wii White
    Mario Kart
    Driving Pack
    motion Plus Remote
    Wii Music
    Argos £109.98 (no shipping)
    Wii fit Plus Game
    Amazon £14.79 (free del.)
Crown Wii Premium Fitness Balance Board - White
    (compatible - gets good reviews)
    thehut.com
    £33.85 (free del.)

Total £158.62 pretty good start out kit, beats most bundles as Mario and Wii fit + balance board are essential really!

I think now is the time to get into Wii, a couple of years ago people were paying a fortune for this stuff. Now they have all traded up because they want the latest stuff and wii stuff is cheap - but its still a lot of fun!

Looking at the box for this in my local Asda, it seems that the Wii remote is the one with built-in Motion Plus - so is worth more than the standard one as it normally retails at about £40.

Argos currently have compatible remotes with a nunchuck for £19.99 - http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?storeId=10001&catalogId=1500002901&langId=-1&searchTerms=9251317

Not a bad price, although not sure how good they are they do seem to have reasonable reviews.

    Hi
After buying the console last week I have been on the look out for a genuine Wii motion plus controller in white.
Asda direct sell them for £26.97 and have just got the white back in stock but have blue and pink aswell. This is the cheapest I can find it at the moment and ordered one to be delivered to store :j
