Hi,I have been using Avast for quite a while now, and never noticed it had put its own screensaver on my list of options for it.
Only today, whilst looking to change the usual Bubbles, did I notice Avast,s. I tried it, and got heliograph + floating dialoue box, with avast and 3 digit countdown numbers.
Has anyone with Avast come across this?
Or is it dubious? Cheers

I went to c/Panel, then personalise, then scrensaver.
In the dropdown menu, there it is Avast sceensaver.
It,s never been there before, no option of installing when I put Avast on;
I thought all the options were windows vista default ones + acer, my pc0 -

. Antivirus screensaver. Another avast! favorite, the antivirus screensaver is basically a special screensaver that is able to run a full system scan when it makes most sense – i.e.when the system is idle. It can run on top of another screensaver (with just a small top-level window showing the scan progress), so you don’t have to sacrifice your favorite screensaver in order to use it.
To enable the avast! screensaver, open the system screensaver properties window, and select “avast! antivirus” from the list.0 -
Yep, that has been there since version 4.
If you click settings in the screensaver settings, you can change the basic settings (underlying screensaver, and to loop scanning)
If you open avast, select settings, check the "Show special scans in avast! user interface"
Then go to "Scan Now", find the ScreenSaver scan and then you can change some more settings in the scan.

Personally, I never use a screen saver (not really needed for modern monitors). I prefer to save power and £'s and set the monitor to go standby mode instead. Having said that the Avast scan screensaver is a useful feature for the "downtime".0
