Any clever people know how 2 to reboot computer.?

Keep getting message "System registry file missing or corrupt ".
When I try to start my computer.

try rebooting in safe mode; also on start up try any of the available boot fix options when u press f8/f6/f12 (i forget which key !).

does your machine have a factory restore partition or did it come with a windows disc - see the manual? If you need any data before reinstall buy a usb hard disk caddy

Hi, thanks for answers, still trying to get computer started.
My windows system is Vista home premium, my computer does have a recovery partition., but cannot get to it because it will not boot.
When I try to start in safe mode or any other, still get message " System registry file corrupted or missing ".

if the f8 options don't work then if u have access to a windows vista cdrom (or one provided by manufacturer ) - try booting with that. u might need to change boot settings to boot cdrom first in the bios .

Have tried to start using cd provided by HP, get message saying "This PC is not supported by recovery discs ".
Dont know how to change boot settings in bios.
