Any clever people know how 2 to reboot computer.?
Keep getting message "System registry file missing or corrupt ".

try rebooting in safe mode; also on start up try any of the available boot fix options when u press f8/f6/f12 (i forget which key !).BLOODBATH IN THE EVENING THEN? :shocked: OR PERHAPS THE AFTERNOON? OR THE MORNING? OH, FORGET THIS MALARKEY!

does your machine have a factory restore partition or did it come with a windows disc - see the manual? If you need any data before reinstall buy a usb hard disk caddy!!

Hi, thanks for answers, still trying to get computer started.
My windows system is Vista home premium, my computer does have a recovery partition., but cannot get to it because it will not boot.
When I try to start in safe mode or any other, still get message " System registry file corrupted or missing ".0 -

if the f8 options don't work then if u have access to a windows vista cdrom (or one provided by manufacturer ) - try booting with that. u might need to change boot settings to boot cdrom first in the bios .BLOODBATH IN THE EVENING THEN? :shocked: OR PERHAPS THE AFTERNOON? OR THE MORNING? OH, FORGET THIS MALARKEY!

Have tried to start using cd provided by HP, get message saying "This PC is not supported by recovery discs ".
Dont know how to change boot settings in bios.0
