stage 2/3 and 3 car seats?

where is the best place to find info on these and the prices seem to vary so much ds1 is 2yrs 7 months and is over 30lbs ds2 is 1 yr 5 months and is about the same weight i will be thinking of the stage 3 car seat in thecoming months but after having a brief look, there appears to be not masses difference in some just the price and advice would be great.

You would be wise NOT to buy a stage 3 car seat for a 2 yr 7m old or 1 yr 5m old as they are intended for children over the age of 4 years old who weigh more than 15kg (that's 33 lb).

You would be wiser to buy a stage 1-2-3 car seat which will keep your children in a 5 point harness. I have a Britax Evolva 123 for my 5 year old who is only 105cm tall and weighs 15kg and I estimate she will be able to stay in the harness until she is about 110 cm tall. With this seat, the harness is recommended up to 18kg and then you take the harness off and it becomes a stage 3 high back booster up to 36kg (over 5 1/2 stone).

I'm sure Maxi Cosi will also have a similar product to the Evolva 123.

thank you my toddler will be over the weight in very little time, im looking for new seat for june july time he will be three by then. i was thinking of getting the seats in advance just so i have them ready it took me long enough to choose their first seats. and they are to last up untill they are 18kg so i just wanted to be prepared but there is so many and i dont have a clue.
