pc keeps freezing after about 2 minuites

hi there

all of a sudden one of my pc's keeps freezing after around 2 mins of use.

i have av, firewall and malware scanner installed.

the only change to my machine was a windows update , after that i got the problem.

could it be the update causing the problem? if so why would an update stop my pc functioning correctly ?

Could be a heat issue ... check all cooling fans are working and not clogged up (especially the processor fan and heatsink).

I concur that this may be a heat issue if its happening so fast. Note down the time until *freeze* after the computer has been off for 24 hours. Then restart and note down time untl *freeze* again. If it was quickier (by maybe 3-5 minutes) then its most likely a heat issues as the problem will occur more quickly after a restart then a morning boot up.

depending on how technically minded your feeling. going to the BIOS can reveal the temperature of your CPU.
