    My account (in my multinational corporate employer) is being upgraded from Communicator to Lync tomorrow, so I'll know then what it's like. :)

    BTW - I have Office 2007 not Office 2010, so 2010 must not be a pre-requisite for presence integration.

    There's not a lot of cash to throw at this which is why I mentioned a freebie.
    I vaguely remember using something similar to Novell GroupWise and that it was free but I can't remember the name of it.
